Is anybody else at HeliRussia

The first day of the show here in Moscow has been excellent. considering that Russia has never held a commercial helicopter show, it is very well organised and well attanded. Probably around a third of the area of Helitech but plenty of helicopters from Kamov, Kazan, Mil and the AN34 along with the standard Agusta, Bell, Eurocopter stuff on show. Different also to see the Russian engines, gearboxes and ancillaries on offer. 2 more days to go then back to Blighty. (Can't even managed to stay for the football next week)

We'll be flying through Russia this Summer. Any chance you've come across a cooperative helo operator or handling company who you think might be of help?

Any info would be appreciated.

Does anybody know which Russian manufacturer these models come from?

Is it Mil? Some of the models look very similar to what is currently coming out of the R&D depts of Sikorsky and Piasecki...

It's a mix from Kamov and Mil.

Thanks Chris, interesting thread

I have never managed to get to any of the trade shows, this one looks to have some new prototypes. Market needs some new blood to keep the game up.

Any more photos would be great (particularly the Russian gear):ok:

The counter-rotating one, is Kamovs model 92!!! Maybe it has a better gear-box??:E

For those interested, there's some excellent coverage of the show and the plethora of scale models (Mi-X1, Ka-92, Mi-8M, Ka-62, MPBK) over at Secret Projects.

That 380 kt stowable rotor Ka-90 looks 'interesting' ! :E

It's MRVK and not MPBK.
