Augusta 109 Down ?
 

Hi All,

Climbing out of the midlands towards the south coast this evening, we heard lots of activity on 121.5. A coastguard helicopter IJ and 2 police choppers were searching for a missing Augusta 109 ...

I'm hoping it all turned out well ??

Little old lady saw an Agusta 109 heading towards a private site near Godalming and thought it was crashing, so she rang the police. Or so I heard.

Seems like a bystander made a judgement call on a 109 decending into Dunsfold, though he saw something he didnt lost sight of aircraft and called the authorities. Still, better that than him just ignoring his instincts. I am sure the captain appreciates things like this happening, rather than someone doing nothing.!!!!

:ok: Well done to bystander, and also to emergency services for action based on little information. Good to know they are there, even if it is a false alarm.

Glad it was that than something else though.!

Actually 2 Coastguard Helicopters, IJ from Portland and WB from Lee On Solent. Plus the 2 Police aircraft.
The rest is pretty much as "Grand Ops" reports.
