air test

A simple question for those in the know. At What service does a light piston heli require to be test flown by the maintenance organisation? 100 hour? Annual? or just C of A?

Brilliant Stuff 20th July 2007 16:53

C of A I am 90% sure.

helifixer 20th July 2007 23:48

All three, if you are referring to a Robinson.

Sorry, perhaps I should have said I am talking about UK. Does that make any difference?

muffin 21st July 2007 14:13

Mine wasn't at 100 hours or at the annual so I guess it is at C of A only.

helifixer 22nd July 2007 00:27

In the Robinson maintenance manual you are required to carry out a maintenance test flight with an engineer on board every 100 hrs. Perhaps you should read it. Which helicopter are you referring to?

cholmondeley 22nd July 2007 10:18

Robinson R22

unfortunately in the uk we dont do what the manufacturer says we have a higher authority that knows better GODs or as they are normally known the CAA

quichemech 23rd July 2007 15:03

You should still be doing it.

The matter was picked up as a non compliance during a CAA audit of a maintenance organisation that I know of. It's now carried out as per the Maintenance manual.
