EMS in Europe

I'm currently flying EMS in the U.S. We're on 12 hour standby, SPIFR for day and night operations. In the U.S. all EMS operators require IR or an ATP (which I hold). I also hold a JAA CHPL without the IR.

Do I need to get my JAA IR in order to fly EMS in Europe? Are there 7/7 schedules available?

Thank you and Fly Safe!

What kind of schedules are generally being worked in europe flying police or HEMS? Can one commute or are you required to live near your base?

Thanks!
