Moving map certification...?

Folks,

Am looking for any info on the installation of a moving map system in a G registered IFR aircraft. Obviously would not be used for primary navigation.
Are off the shelf systems such as Skyforce or Avmap EASA certified or do they need to be...?
Do you install them and get the mod EASA approved and if so how difficult is this...?
Been searching the net and all the sales brochures tell how great the systems are but none state whether they are approved or not.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

We have a Skyforce 3C in our G reg IFR 355. In fact most uk aircraft have them. They are approved for installation and as far as I know it's just a minor mod.

Don't know much about Avmap, but once Flymap have got their approval I can really recommend their product. http://www.flymap.co.uk/.
