Mosquito helicopter

At Oshkosh '06, I noticed a single-seat helicopter called the Mosquito. I was only mildly interested, as I did not see what it could be used for.

Having recently returned to helicopter FLYING as opposed to engineering, I now see what that use would be.

Pure pleasure.

So I will buy one.

Any thoughts?

And I always thought mosquito was Spanish for a small mosque :)

Have you got a photo?

sorry for wrong info, NO licence required ???? lots of hurt people around i'd think !

Dave_Jackson 27th March 2007 16:46

thekite,

There is information available by doing a search on this forum.

John Uptigrove is/was the developer. The craft will have the obvious limitations of a low-priced helicopter. However, I have aways found John to be a serious person who put quality ahead of marketing.

things going round & round really fast

Might sound sort of turbinish with that 6000rpm two stroke screaming in you ear? Best single seat machine I've eyeballed to date is the CH7 Angel, out of Italy originally.

DanglyBob 28th March 2007 11:35

sounds just like an old Yamaha RD250 I used to have...

160 hp Modified Solar T-62 turbine derated to 90 hp. :E
Check it out in the Specs part.
Sounds pretty cool & with a normal cruise of 95mph...that aint bad.

So much fun that Helicycle, the designer died in one.

No thanks.

22clipper 29th March 2007 00:29

Knew a guy who assembled a helicycle kit here in Sydney. That APU really purred & the downward pointing exhaust killed the lawn where ever he landed. It was nice to see another machine with the same potential for starting grass fires as my beloved little R22.

HELOFAN 29th March 2007 14:20

Chukka ...... does this mean you also wont fly the R22 ?
