Banking in Qatar

Info please: If one needed to send alimony and support to the USA while working in Qatar what banking system would you use? And what is the simplist way to send monies? Any info would be appreciated.

Ask your local bank....they probably have a partner bank or at least a list of banks in Qatar.

Is your pay to be paid into a local Qatar bank in local currency or in US Dollars or can it be deposited directly into your stateside account?

If you are going on the Evergreen Contract.....McMinnville will be able to direct deposit your pay.

Don't think that Evergreen has an operation in Qatar, they do have an operation in the UAE.

I would try to open an account with HSBC in Qatar. HSBC have branches worldwide and sending money is pretty easy with them. You could have your ex open an account with HSBC in the US and then a transfer between HSBC accounts would be easy. I believe CityBank also has a strong presence in Doha.

Aye, Citibank would be my choice.

They have a good presence in Doha.
