Annual Flying Rate
I am a military driver based in Nothern Ireland.
I was just wondering while doing my Annual Log book summary what a goodyear's flying rate would be in the civilian marketplace. I have managed just shy of 300 hrs and that seems to be the average at my unit on my type. No I am not planning on leaving soon!!! What is a good rate in the commercial/corporate world? Any responses appreciated. Thanks in advance Carve:ok: |
650 hrs in 2006. Almost half of that was Aug to Oct.

On the N Sea I suppose about 600-800 a year.
Corporate don't know. Police 250-400 a year (although Merseyside are a busy (;) )little bunch and may do more)! |
Onshore Charter & instructing in the UK: 5-600hrs.

Quality Not Quantity!
Carve, as you continue, you'll find it's not the hours which matter - it's how much you've enjoyed amassing them :) . Maybe you'll find you love SAR more than anything and you'll retire with only 200 hours a year: or maybe you'll find that offshore is your métier and fly 800 hours a year. I've only flown around 15,000 hours, jack of all trades, master of none :} . But I've enjoyed the variety of military, SAR, HEMS, police, offshore, mountain, instructing and I still have fire fighting, logging, long-line and ENG to look forward to ;)
