When is an Export C of A not required when importing an aircraft?

Hi All

We are about to bring an aircraft onto a local CAA-type registry from the FAA, and in the import package in the "Verification of Conformity to Type Design" section, it says "Aircraft may be imported with or without an Export C of A".

Anyone know what would qualify an aircraft to be imported without having to go through the Export process?

Not all countries issue export C of A certificates.

But I would recommend that you obtain an FAA export C of A, it will be too late once its deregistered from the US, believe me, seen it done by an owner and caused significant delay (and costs) obtaining said C of A (Our experience was on UK reg with a Longranger, an absolute nightmare).
