gold or silver
 

In my small exploits as a cpl,I have seen many a pilot wear their silver bars and others their gold bars.
Is there a difference for us rotary lot than plank pilots ?
Is there a difference in what kind of work you are doing ?
because I have yet to hear a full explanation on why.
