This is your latest excuse for pushing the single is best line is it? If you don't have a second engine you can't forget to start it - dear oh dear.

The difference in a helo is you will discover the second one isn't running when either a. you do your checks properly or b. try to lift to the hover.
In the example you linked to they didn't get airborne but aborted the take off run.

OK that reminds a story / article I read some decades ago about a person being allowed to carry one bomb with him abroad on the premises/superstition that there has never been an incident with two bomb abroad an airliner.
