N Reg Remuneration?
Simple question that I have been given different answers to.
Can you fly an N reg helicopter in the UK with a JAR UK CPL(H) for remuneration or must you hold a FAA licence? Help would be appreciated. Apologies if this has been posted before. |
this is complicated I believe...this may help.

No, have to hold a FAA CPL. There are more issues involved however.
Is it you own helicopter or are you hired as a commercial pilot to only do the flying? |
No aircraft is not mine but it is privately owned.
It would not be used for instructional purposes but to ferry the owner and his buisness associates. |
Then I'm afraid you need a FAA CPL.

getting an FAA CPL is really pretty easy. I did a flight test with an examiner to get a stand alone FAA CPL plus a quick computer based exam. No type ratings under 12500 lbs either. Was pretty simple. You can nip over to the States and get it done in three or four days. PM me and I can recommend somewhere in the NE of the US. Getting a copy of the latest 2006 FAR/AIMS ( FAA Lasors equivilent ) is helpful.
