MI 2

Does anyone know why there is a bank angle limit of 30 deg on the MI2?

Easy, anything over 30 degrees in a Russian machine - you spill your Vodka!! :)

There are some flight and ops manuals for this helicopter. Different MTOW, Bank angle...
For military use 45 deg bank angle is approved on a higher grossweight (8140 lbs) than on civ ops 30 deg (7810 lbs) <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> !!! The helicopter is limited to +2,0 g's. Easy to reach the limit on a 45 deg bank with some stick changes. From this bank on, it's a little bit tricky to hold an exactly balanced level turn. Turn rate is impressive for an iron bird. On a normal gross weight, you need the full engine power, especially on right turns. If the single Hydsystem fails under this conditions, you have to be a russian bear to recover! (really heavy stick- and pitchforces, no Hydaccu's)
