My first love...
Reading Nr Fairy's reply on the R22 instrument training thread brought back happy memories for me when he mentioned R22 G-OFAS. This was the helicopter I did most of my training and -more importantly - my first solo flight in.
So come on guys and girls , let's be hearing from you all, and let's find out how many other Ppruners have lost their cherries in the aircraft that we thought we had a special bond with.... |
Gee I like the way you say that, but I never got it high enough to be in the mile high club for rotorcraft :)
Saw a UH-1N that I had in Gitmo come thru Pensacola 6 years later, it looked terrible and was on it's way to Davis. I felt so bad for 168257 .... http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif ------------------ Marc |
This month's edition of Pilot has a photo of a hangar full of Bulldogs about to be sold off. I thought one in the front was a familiar number, XX615, and now see it was the a/c I had my last Bulldog flight in 14 years ago; some excellent solo wazzing around Machrihanish. Happy days.

I've no real affection for any one machine I've flown, not even the ones I went solo in. Basically, if I can fly it on my own, I like it. I did enjoy a trip in a Cub - back to basics flying, but that's about it.

Nobody could accuse you of being a romantic, Nr Fairy! ;)

My wife does. I'm not the sort of bloke who reserves "I love you" for the vinegar strokes.
