I think the tail boom is longer, and the back clam shell doors are taller and a bit extended. Seem to be a preemptive upgrade to fight off any possible advantage that the SH09 (leonardo/marenco) is preparing to offer.

End of Life Fenestron Blade
 
Anyone have any ideas of where I could get my hands on an end of life fenetron blade or other lifed EC135 parts....?

Where do you live? I’m replacing out H135 fenestron blade set in a couple of months.

A mechanic I used to work with made a clock from the whole assembly. It was actually pretty cool !

Co-pilot door modification
 
Hello

I have recently seen an EC135 with a modification to the co-pilots door such that if you knock off the gas strut it can be opened fully with a latch built into the LH pilot tube mount and a small lever inside to release it again. A small metal bobble on the outside of the door engages with this latch

I am trying to work out which design organisation (21J) can do this mod as the FLM supp is missing I think maybe AAT but any help appreciated

GM,

It is a standard option on new EC135 for the pilot and co-pilot door. It holds the door in a spoiler position to allow operation at higher speeds with the cabin doors open.

Not sure if an SB has been issued for retrofit.

There is also AHUK-135-0023 STC for a longer strut that increases the door opening on the CP side by about 180 mm.

If it's only for maintenance it is fairly common practice to knock both front gas struts off and tie both doors open together with a bit of rope and padding on the pitot tube mount. You would be brave to turn blades with the doors in this position. EC120 has a little issue with this as a few have found when in a strong tail wind on the ground with rotors turning and you open the RH door and the strut lets go. Very expensive.

There was a time when I'd agree, Gem - but as the fleet seems to spend so much time transiting between force areas instead of actually doing police work, I can see when a weather radar might actually be of some use.
