Governor Limits

This question was asked some time ago and no-one seemed to have a definitive answer:

At what high end does the R22 governor stop functioning?

I have the answer and remnembered the question but can't find it or who was asking, but here it is:

The governor is active from 80-115% and must, to be considered serviceable, actively reduce RRPM from 106% to green during maintenence.

It was a while ago.

I had asked because another person here had a gov issue in flight, we wanted to know the limits.

Of course if you are above 115% it won't recover that back for you though :)

Thanks.

Greetings, I'd like to find a description, photos, or drawings of the governor components in the R22 or any other piston helo. A search of the web has yeided very litle info on this subject and I'd like to get some ideas for a homebuilt project.

Thanks

The Rotax 912 and 914 engines can be supplied with a Woodward governor.

The Rotax home page is; http://www.kodiakbs.com/index.htm
The drawing, plus Section 20 in the online Installation Manual and Parts Manual give some information.

The Woodward web page is; http://www.woodward.com/A ES/products/propcont.cfm

You may be able to dig some information of interest out of the following web page also; http://www.synchrolite.com/Governo r.html

Hope that the above is of some help;
