Refueling pump
Looking for information about practical refueling pump to be carried in A109 baggage compartment.

We used to use an 'Archimedes Screw' type pump in Oman, though I can't remember who made them.
I've tried google but got nowhere slowly!! |
Try this
I have been using the Aussiemade Mcnaught pump for the past
7 years and they are very good. It is a gear based pump with a very good delivery rate. Virtually zero hassles in al that time. Pumped approx 64000l per annum. Try them on : http://www.macnaught.com.au/Company.html Goto " Lubrication - Fuel Pumps - GP Rapid-Flo |
Some operators use engine bleed air to do the same function but much simpler an only basic moving parts. Requires an engine to be running which for some is a problem. Works on drums or other vessels that can be pressurized slightly to move the fuel.

I' ll support the Mcnaught pump as well, having and still using one our days as back up inside our aircraft luggage bay. They are very quick ( 1turn 1 litre) easy to use and maintain. The pump shaft used for 44 gallons will also seperate into 2 pieces, so the whole set up, ie pump, shaft, filter glass, handle etc, will fit in a medium size backpack, probably 2-3 kgs max weight.

I use one of these built in to a metal tool box for diesel.

Managed to find some pumps that look suitable, work on 120 VAC, close enough to 115 from the inverter.
