Hour Requirements

Hi People,

Im after some help with regards to hour requirement for flight training here in the US.

I have tried trawling through the FAA website but it makes no sense!!!

Im after the minimum hour requirements before i can apply for the following ratings:-

CPLH
CFI
INSTRUMENT RATING
CFII
NIGHT RATING

Im trying to plan out my training and it would be great if you could help me out.

Thankyou in advance,

R

CPL: 150 hours total time. 100 of which must be PIC

CFI: no hour requirement, just need a CPL licence

IR: you need a PPL. no hour requirement for part 141 training. for part 61 training you need 50 hrs FAA cross country

CFII: no hour requirement, you need to have the CFI and an IR

Night rating: If you have a FAA PPL you should be valid to fly night (subject to flight schools policy). if you want to take passengers at night you need to have done 3 take off and landings at night in the preceding 90 days

Theoretically there is no need for a CFI if you wanna go for the CFII. CPL and IR is enough ;) Other than that thecontroller is spot on.

Do you have any fixed wing flying time or licenses? That figures into the calculations as well....depending upon what you have.
