FI(H) course - 2nd student req
Anybody else thinking of doing there FI(H) course this summer?
I'm a little off the requirements at the moment (but not by a lot) and plan to do a course, early in the summer, in the south east. I'm looking for a second student as I'm told we can split the cost of the ground school, saving a few pounds !! |
how much are you paying?idid mine end of last year.

Seems to be in the region of £8 to 9,000 +VAT depending on where you look.
Where did you do yours? any recommendations? |
The UK Schools are looking at about £7-8000 for QFI Rating. Ive been looking round for ME IR and have looked at/emailed most. They give replys for everything!!!
Dont know if it is easier doing it in the US of A but probably(definately) worth a look. Best of luck. I will PM you if I have any luck as I'm doing the same myself. L' |
For the H300 Andy Gutteridge at Oxford.
For the R22 Mike Bowden at Sloane. Flown with both, not on an FI course however both know their stuff and have my utmost respect. V. |

Far to late to worry about the cost - you are a commercial helicopter pilot and now a highly paid instructor. Ah watch those pennies roll in!!!!"!!:{ On the subject of Sloanes and the FI course there are a number of advantages / disadvantages: I dont think they are the cheapest by a long way. They tend to use 2 or 3 instructors (last couple of courses) one is MB. one is Military and the other is an airline pilot. This means you get a number of different styles which can be either useful or a pain depending on how you are feeling at the time. I suggest you do your research talk to the providers and make sure you are able to get on with the person who is going to give you the training, its a lot of money to realise after a couple of hours that the next 6 weeks are going to be torture!!!! |
Hi
Can any of you confirm a rumour that the hours to qualify for an JAR FI(H) have been reduced from 300 hours TT to 250? What P1 time is required? I am aware that you only have to do 9 exams for the issue of a JAR CPL(H) now and would be interested to here if the above is true. Cheers ET |
