What do you think of this?

Really cool paint job on this Mi-24 Hind. I belive its with the Hungarian army.
I've had another pic of it as wallpaper on my home PC for almost two years now. |
Always strong reactions to this paint job.
It's also been posted as the worst paint job ever. |
I think its being used for Merc Work somewhere in Africa.
Amazing piece of work in my opinion! |
Cool paint job, but does it like crackers? :D

Please can anyone help????
I have a JetRanger going to be painted in the next couple of weeks and I really dont know what colours/designs to use. What I dont want.... A boring standard 206 design!!! What I do want.... It to look seriously smart!!! Has anyone got any Ideas???? Or maybe you have seen a good design or better still have a picture??? Thanks  |
I rather like G-HOOT - I think it is a TVR colour?
http://www.phillrawlins.com/images/g-hoot.jpg Cheers Whirlygig |
The G-HOOT scheme looks like a a seriously cool Eurocopter paint that has a multicoloured pigment and a pyramid type inclusion. The result is that it changes colour depending from which direction you view it. So, for instance it looks metallic green when it approaches and metallic red once it has passed.
I know it is not your chosen make but Eurocopter have a neat interactive site for their EC 120 so you can try different paint schemes. Can't seem to get this into HTML but you can cut and paste. http://www.eurocopter.com/ec120/fpaint.html Otherwise take a line drawing of your machine into a hot bar on ladies night, go up to a group of wicked looking women that look like they are in advertising, tell them you want a scheme for YOUR helicopter and ask their advice. You will get a superb design and get laid too. |
G-JETX wins my vote!!!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../G-JETX002.jpg It's a fantastic pearlescent colour, the photo doesn't do it justice! |
I agree with moosp, go with ColorShift paint.
Apparently very expensive, but then, so is your helicopter. When its done, we want pictures. P.S. HeliEng, re your favourite: "...yeah sorry mate, ran out of time. Bring it back Monday and we'll finish it off!" ;) |
ColourShift paints can look good, others look awful. There's a particularly dodgy looking purplish A109 flying around the UK. Also bear in mind that these paints are extremely difficult to get a good colour match if you need to get a single panel re-sprayed.
My favourite colour is Subaru World Rally Blue (paint code O2C), it's the dogs testacles. But please don't paint any stripes on it; you wouldn't have stripes painted on your car, so why on your helicopter. J |
What a mint paint job on G-HOOT!
Alot of boy racers have similar jobs on their cars here in NZ, what a waste of a paint scheme. Finally someone has used it for a decent machine! :ok: :D |
Thanks guys some great ideas. G-HOOT is pretty cool but that dodgy looking A109 puts me off a bit I saw it in France! Big thanks to Moosp for the best idea, I m off to the pub to see if it works!!!
Heliheaven:ok: ;) |
john weymouth's squirrel,
http://www.bluetonguehelicopters.com...rune/paint.jpg painted then wrapped in glad wrap, great effect. |
Must have been expensive if the pilot had to sell his shoes!
|
I have to agree with jellycopter. Who would want stripes on their car when they could have it painted like my little beauty??
