heavy lift in uk your help needed
hi fellow pruners,
maybe some of you could help me, im looking for a suitable operator in the uk capable of leasing an heli to do some heavy lift work, well not that heavy just a landrover and poss trailer (2t max). Cheers :ok: |
Tony, if it`s a one-off, you might try Odiham or Benson via the Station Public Relations Officer, assuming they have one,as a training exercise. The Navy might be interested as well; play one off against the other !!

Tony,
That sort of weight may be achievable by a B3 Squirrel, it's not what we'd call "heavy". IIRC the B3 will pull about 1300kg, same as a BK117. I'd certainly put the work into an operator's pocket before referring on to the Mil, much as we all love them (that's the owner/operator in me ;) ). |
Tony,
Typical Land Rovers seem to start at 1700Kg empty weight, without trailer, from thier web site. Is it an older, smaller design (all us classic designs gained weight over the years...) |
thanks for feedback, i would prefer to put the work towards an operator rather than mil (nothing against the mil). As for exact weight TBC inc lifting equipment more than likely be in 2t area.
If anybody knows an operator who would like this and its not a 1 off either (details only to interested operators) please let me know. Thanks pruners :ok: |
If it is nearer 1700kgs we can do that with our 205s
All lifting gear available.....sadlz not in the UK though but not that far away!! |

I could ask the guys if they'd go over to Brighton. :D

thanks guys (helijoe) i take it your in contact with the RAF, i have considered the mil guys but before i do, i would prefer to offer this out to the civil operators, 1 because its not a 1 off, 2 the civil industry could do with the publicity. I will keep refreshing this post just in case the right contact gets in touch.
Thanks anyway helijoe. :ok: |
Tony
Give Scotia a call 01224 846000 and ask for Capt Bernie Svendson. For a proffessional service. MaxNg |
Hope their lifting is more professional than their spelling:ok:

Heavy Lift
Tony,
Try British International, I believe they have military and civilian contracts that require them to lift 2t + with the S61's that they use. 01736 350652 is the chief Crewmans number |
You could even try Bristow, they could lift that no problem with a 332, don't think you would like the rates from the north sea boys though. ;)
