Helo was in hover when something happened and the pilot elected to make a controlled ditching on the lake. The crew escaped after the helo rolled over and partially submerged. They sat on top of the wreckage for a while, before 2 swam ashore, the last one beeing rescued by a boat later. In norwegian: dagbladet.no |
What happened to the Audi?
|
The pilot was a Captain Thomas Kouplingsen
|
---------------------
Apparently the crew were picked up by a passing Audi driver who noticed the helicopter was in danger of sinking. The Audi drivers laywers are in consultation with Audi to see if the cars warranty has been invalidated. It is also believed that the drivers licence was not endorsed with the 'rescue vehicle' group and because of this he may lose his licence.:ugh: ---------------------- Seriously though, glad all the crew are Ok. Just when you least expect it, Eh! :\ |
As a 365N2 driver would love to know what happened? No sign of rear float if fitted.

Registry Number???
Does anyone know the registry number? LN-?
|
Interesting second set of pics!! I am surprised at so little damage to blades and fenestron. I know the Dauphin blades are tough but I would have expected more damage .
Doesn't look like it had floats as I can't see any grey covers. Good job done by the Puma crew. The 1st shot looks a little like Stingray!!! from the 70s TV HF |
Apparently it's LN-OPJ, which makes it a N1.

Maybe the blades were not turning? |
That tail looks like a N2, because it is far to chunky and sqaure for an N1.
Thanks for the pictures. I am very glad nobody got hurt. regards Brilliant stuff |
Norsk Luftabulanse only have N1s, and they are the only ones that have that color scheme. (That google can reveal anyway)
It looks kinda "boxy" here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...ads/LN-OPJ.jpg Picture by Martin Alexander Skaatun |
Its an N1
If you look at the Norwegian registry database (available through www.landings.com) it is an N1, s/n6228.:ok:
