Think of a registration...
We need a new registration for our EC-120. The authorities have restricted us to the country letter, B, followed by the next letter K or L, then two more letters. I will not go into why as this is an open forum :D
We have found the obvious ones of B-LUE, B-KUP, B-LEW, B-KIS but I know that out there is someone with a mind that works with letters like this. So come on please, you crossword and anagram fanatics. We need it to be polite, but anything will be considered. Prize is an hour over Hong Kong in said machine and a slap up dinner in Mrs. Miggins pie shop A.K.A. the Hong Kong Aviation Club. |
How about B-LOW ('blow' and 'below')
Well, it is a helicopter. Dan:ok: Or...B-LIP ATC will never miss you that way:O |
Dan-T
Good Start! Think anagrams as well as losing the odd vowel that sometimes works with waypoints. |
B-GR8 (aka "Be Great")
Do we get our names inscribed next to the data plate if we recommend the winning acronym? |
For the New Zealanders
B-LAM |
... maybe the past tense B-LEW
Also B-LIP, B-LOT, B-LUR Cheers Whirlygig |
And B-KYT, as in 'be quiet'
Maybe not |
B-LAY, especially if you'll be doing any hoisting (mountaineering term?). B-LUV (wish you had four letters, mine would definitely be B-LUVD). B-KUM in case it changes into something else. B-KER if your cup runneth over.
Ah well, I couldn't afford to get to Hong Kong anyway. |
This is good. People, keep it coming.
RD, you might if it starts with a K or an L. No prizes for G. Our original request was for B-OBO which was turned down, so you can see the way we were thinking. B-LUV is up there with the leaders already, but may be a pacer from the Hilco stable. B-KUM is right out as we have a lady in the syndicate. Whirly, I like the way you're thinking. No prizes for sheep, but cute animals would work. Also think Chinese, we tried B-KAM for golden, but no banana. |
How about...
B-KFL ...because I'm sure you will be. Oh boy!...I really want to win. I only have one hour of EC-120 time in my logbook and I want more:uhoh: |
C s C, yes that is one of my favorites as you can see by my "sub handle", but it didn't work with the other owners.
Not easy is it? The big question is why don't the HK CAD sell out of sequence letters like the HK transport department do with motors? I mean, there is nothing in the law that says it has to begin with K or L. And selling a registration is revenue for the government. Just tradition I suppose. So lets keep positive. B-LOB is nice but on low odds right now. B-KEG has a beery tone to it which appeals, but there must be better. |
And...
B-KOZ ...well, just because, that's all Or... B-LIT ...as it will be most of the time, I\'m sure. If the lady\'s name is Elizabeth or similar you could also use B-LIZ Well, that\'s me done! |
Good odds on B-KOZ, in good form over this distance.
Add in a further handicap. How easy is it to say over the RT? GOLF MIKE are the only two monosylabics of the phonetic alphabet and some combinations are difficult with a mouth full of Mars bar or bacon and egg sandwich. Keep them coming. |
How about B-KUS, why? Just B-KUS ! works in my world anyway!!:ok:
|

How about a good B-ONK :ok:
|
