2400 can thats nothing. On our tour side I think they gross 3600+ us per hobbs hour n the As350. Charter some where 1200 plus fuel.
But remember all the overhead in a tour operation. hey, 407D you guys got to be over t2400 can+ with tours over your rocks out of Canmore. RB:ok: |

Sorry about the delay guys. It can't be easy on Imabell with his hectic work and social schedule. Appreciate his time in resizing and getting them on the web.
There were some vids as well, but i am told that they will have to wait for the time being. Unfortunately, the time of year i went, it was crappy weather, so Imabell has done his bes photoshop on the pictures. Much appreciated. http://www.bluetonguehelicopters.com.au/pprune/ni.jpg Horseshoe Falls http://www.bluetonguehelicopters.com.au/pprune/ni2.jpg More falls http://www.bluetonguehelicopters.com.au/pprune/ni3.jpg The rest will come as and when it fits with Imabell's workload. Thanks again MD :ok: :ok: |
Here's a link to some more Niagara Falls pictures. I took these while on a helicopter tour in November 2003. We flew with a different operator than MD900, but a great experience none the less.

Just out of interest, what's that dirty great white thing sticking out of the water on the left ?

Hey guys, I think I am going to do this tour and see if I really like flying. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I would go about talking to the pilot? I will have a lot of questions for him and I am just curious as to if it is possible to talk to him. Could I call and set up a time or what do you guys think? Also, $80 canadian doesn't seem that bad. Especially with my US money!!! Thanks guys.

The big white thing sticking out is a concrete bank. To speak to the pilot, try to get in the front. he can then switch you into the system. Those are clouds aren't they? Hmmm.

We spoke to the pilot a lot on our trip. We flew with Skyway in the B206, and went on their 20+ minute tour. Nothing was pre-recorded, so he'd point things out to us, then we'd go back to helicopter talk.

Niagara Visit
Flylow
Great set of photos from the falls. Seemed you had a great days flying. The weather was good and the sun was out. I was a bit gutted that the clouds were out and the sun was hiding and there was some -RA on the day. Just out of interest, how much did you pay for your visit? Paco Phil, You are so right, they were clouds, and when i can get my video clips up on the server, you will notice they wern't just little ones either. :uhoh: Robbo Jock I believe as Paco said it is a concrete weir type structure. There is also a wreck of a boat a bit further up, which is kinda hard to see, but it is there. JaredYoung I would really recommend it as an experience. I went with my old dear and she had never wanted to go up in a helo before, but i tell you after we got back, she was grinning from ear to ear. Man that was a grrreat night too :E . You can't go wrong with the price too for a 0.2 trip. Good luck and hopefully you will get bitten by the rotary bug. :ok: I will try and get some of the vid clips on when it is possible. MD :ok: edited for crap spelling |
I only mentioned the clouds, because there is a cloud base limit (I'm trying to remember what it was). You would have been at 2500 feet outbound and 3000 back inbound, and it looks like you should have been taking the bad weather route. It was definitely the boss you were flying with!;)

MD900. Sorry for the delay. Was on vacation.
We took their "Private Romantic Tour", a 25-minute flight with just the pilot and my wife and I, as it was our anniversary. The cost was around $360 CDN or so, as I remember. At first I didn't think the weather was going to cooperate for good visibility, but by the time we went, it had cleared up pretty good. |
