Question(s) for Rotorhead Guru's

I have an UK ATPL(H) obtained nearly nine years ago. Never used the bloody thing though. Went overseas and flew fixed wing up to now. My questions are:

How do you get a licence back up alive and kicking? Is there a min number of hours before doing a flight test, or is it simply dependant on how quickly you get back into the groove?

What min requirements do operators like PAS have? Do they require an IR and recent type rating on a twin?

Do instructor ratings ever expire? (I've got one of those too and never used it! can't see any date on the licence for renewal though)

I'd be interested to hear from anyone else getting back into chopper flying after a long stint of FW flying.. how was it?

In humble anticipation I await your most learned replies.....

Apollo:

Check the CAA web site for LASORS, all the info you need should be in there.

I went through a bit of this - basically, having taken your exams, you shouldn't have to take them again - just pay the money to renew. Your IR needs a retake with the CAA after you have gone more than five years past the last expiry without renewing it (it expires every 12 months) - the same goes for type ratings, except substitute currency for expiry - otherwise, you can just get it renewed with your local friendly IRE.

Mind you, they do change the rules, so check again.
