Can anyone give me advice on where to buy quality scale models: Pumas and S76 specifically. Thanks

Try a search, specifically with the username 'Lu Zuckerman'. Lu was very much into his models (before he left this place for a better place).

No S76's or Puma's but for collectors in general there are some nice UK MD 902 die cast models available, marked up in various paint schemes including Virgin HEMS, Wiltshire Police / Air Ambulance, West Midlands Police, Kent Air Ambulance, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, and even an MD902 LUH ( That'll be an interesting one for the experts to talk about on the Antiques Roadshow in years to come ! )

Scale model
 

After the CHC take-over and losing all Dauphins in The Netherlands, we decided to get a model as a reminder of a great period!!
So we had a Dauphin model made scale 1:30, Mahogany and original colors and registration. On the photo you still see the gear hanging out, but they corrected that before delivery (we first got photo's from all sides to see if it was good, before processing the order).

Good details like antenna's Hoist+hook temp probe.

Minimum order was 10 pcs, we ended up ordering 24, the cost (including shipping) was just under 100 euro.

S-76 model kits?
 

Been scouring the internet for any sort of model I can put together myself but can't find a single one anywhere. Sure tons of those expensive wood or resin ones about, but none in kit form.

Anyone know of any out there? Just a little desk-top kinda thing is all I'm after.

There isn't one I'm afraid. There was a 1/72 resin one from Hong Kong Creations Workshop which wasn't overly expensive but that was four or so years ago, and not aimed at the casual buyer. Not likely to be one any time soon as civvy helos don't get kitted much (EC-135/145 of recent aside)and the S-76 doesn't have much of a military pedigree.

One of the East Europeam manufactuers ( Legato ) have been promising one for a while - still nothing confirmed though.

I paid US$100 for a lovely wooden/resin 76B from the late Lu Zuckerman, who got it from somewhere else. He also sent me an A109 plastic kit, which looks pretty swish now that International Hog Driver painted it up for me.:ok:

This thread reminded me I've still got one of those Hong Kong GFS S-76 kits in the top cupboard. Here it is!

They've been here almost ten years now; I'll probably get round to building them any minute now... :O

I had a wooden model made by www.allwoodwings.com who I believe are based in SE Asia. I think it cost around US$200. Very happy with the quality, build time was around 10 weeks.

I'm new here

I recognize your Jet Ranger model. They used to be made in my home town here in Ohio, USA back in the late 80's to early 90's. There were two companys; Precise Models and Rollen Plastics. Both Companys are OOB. I knew the owner of Precise models. It just so happend that a good friend of mine bought the Precise Model building so I had the opportunity to obtain many of the helicopter models unassembled that they use to make. I have several garbage bags full of the different 1/30th scale Bells. Bell 206, 206L, UH-1D/H. 214A/B, 222B/UT, 412, 212. I figured out a way to make the bell 407. I even have some rare Sikorsky, Hughes and Boing Vertols. I build the Bell models with compllete customized interiors than the original way they were made.molded. The Jet Ranger and Long Ranger have the correct seating, controls and enclosed cabin with rear bulkhead and overhead ceiling. I even made custom decals for the control panels. There are many parts that I have top scratch build as many parts were not available.

I am currently working on 206's, 206L's, 407's, UH-1Hs, a 412, a 214B and a 222B.

Large desktop models
 

Does anybody know of a source where I might acquire a largeish desktop modle of a helicopter. I am not looking for the wooden mahogany ones but the type you sometimes see at seminars and the like, in the two to three foot range body wise? The type the manufacturers themselves use for advertising? Any that would have internal details and the like? I cannot seem to find any source for these at all, am after an EC135T.2+

If you're after a T2, have you asked Eurocopter?

to be honest it never occurred to me that the manufacturer might be able to help, thank you.

I am not at work but ECUK use an Italian company if I am not mistaken, they ain't cheap.
