Common Frequency

Just wondering if anyone ever uses the common heli frequency in UK 122.95, have listened out on it and heard very little.

Errrrr?

Sorry mate, too busy eating blt's and listening to 5 live on the ADF.......:ok:

You get blt's over there? What luxury. We generally get bologna, dry, and if we're lucky a styrofoam go-plate with something deep-fried in cool grease with rice and congealed beans and Brussels sprouts. :{ :{ Those things are the reason I'll never visit Brussels, or anywhere else in Belgium. :D

GLS......we used to dream of Brussels Sprouts in Nigeria.....why heavens......man.....gosh.....the Sardines and Egg sandwiches from the Forcardos Terminal just could not be beat! Pounded yam and Gheri......now that was the dish.......boiled squash....rather Essence of boiled squash.....poured over cold rice....and goat bones in congealed grease....now that was a treasure.

Not quite the standard of the North Sea....smoked salmon sandwiches, crab meat sandwiches....steaks...chops....fish and chips....ice cream.....and for the lonely Yank....cardboard boxes filled with Taco makings....Old El Paso tortillas, salsa, chilli beans, Jalepeno peppers......now that was the deal.

Back to the thread then!
You can probably tell by the chat so far that the frequency is not widely used...or so you think.
By the very nature of the beast, usually on another frequency for a very good reason but airmanship dictates to have something on box 1 (box 1 action I hear you say....).

It's proved useful once or twice, all depends on where you are so I rec you continue to use it diligently. It only takes a second to.....blah.
The other side of the story is that it's the promulgated freq for HLS so other 'non-rotary' beings, when in the vincinity of a known HLS, can use it to contact/ improve their SA for whatever reason (I'll also be eating my BLT with 252 on the ADF).

Ah! Many a day spent pleasure flying but actually listening to the Test match.......

SASless,
here I am in the Virgin Upper Class lounge at LHR, sipping champagne and impatiently waiting to get back to Nigeria, and you have to remind me of Forcados sardine sandwiches!!!

Now I'm depressed. Oh well, only 7 weeks to go.

I used to listen out on 122.95 when I was onshore in the UK, but similarly never heard anyone either.
