North Sea Operators S92 Phase Out?

I'm hearing a rumours that one if not both of the dual fleet operators are phasing out the S92, is this the future of the North Sea without S92s?

Anyone know any more?

Is this the start of other types entering in place of S92? Also aware of the great 189 come back.

Nothing new under the Sun in helicopter operations.

The S-58T's departed, the 105's departed, 212's departed, the 214's departed, the Chinook departed, the 225's departed, the S-61's departed....heck...even the Whirlwind and Wessex departed.

At some point. yes....the 92's shall go the way of the Buffalo.

When, why, and what replaces them are bonafide questions.

Technology, economics, demand, and even pure opinion all drive such decisions.

Could be perfect timing for the 525.

So the move towards super mediums from the operators, is this down to passenger numbers or age / spares for 92? Or a perfect storm?

Lockheed has zero institutional memory of what it takes to support a commercial customer and the Sikorsky of today is well into its Lockheed brain-transplant.

Are they all not 'triple operators' though?

The core principal of Lockheed Martin business operations is that they will shout, "Jump!" and governments will ask, "How high?" Everything else is barely relevant detail.

over 1000 F35s with 2500 ordered for US alone, at about 85 million USD a pop plus through life costs. Then 4,000+ Blackhawks. A couple of hundred S92s are sofa change by comparison.
