Too old CPL looking for work

Hi Guys, before you shoot me down in flames, not looking for pilot work. I am one of those who went after a CPL (H) in later life and didn't manage to convert it into regular employment. I am now a free agent, 62 years old so no longer able to fly commercially, but looking for employment in the helicopter business. I have ground crew experience with tour companies on the Jetranger and Longranger. flying experience in the UK on R22 and R44, and good commercial and sales/service skills gained in other industries. Just looking to be a useful guy to have around. Currently based in the UK but able to relocate world wide, no ties and no hang ups about location, but preferably somewhere warm!

If anyone knows of or can offer an opportunity?

Come to The States. Pretty sure at 62 you can still fly here commercially.

It really is that easy... 🤦

If you’re interested in ground crew / task specialist work then Skyhook Helicopters (https://www.skyhookhelicopters.co.uk) were recently advertising a position.

Similarly you could try contacting PDG Aviation Services (https://pdgaviationservices.com) as they also utilise task specialists.

Final suggestion would be seeing if Heli Fuel Services (https://www.helifuelservices.com) had any opportunities.

Thank you. Been out of the loop for a while!

Thanks for the suggestion. I think a Green Card might be an issue and I sure there is no shortage of low time Robbie pilots in the states! That was always the problem, getting the useful experience that operators required. I will look into it though.

I'm 62 with 40 years experience and over 10K hours mostly twin turbine, I would be hard pushed to find a job in UK - if I wanted one.

Without an IR and twin time I suspect you will struggle.

Like I said, before you shoot me down in flames, not looking for pilot work. Need a beer to put these flames out.

Gee, Crab was just making a [useful] comment I thought, not even warm let alone flaming!

Hope things look better for you after that drink...
