Rumour it hit a power line flying low in the valley. Is it a 332L1? Might be N950SG

Aircraft was in the process of landing to pick up a patient injured in a motor vehicle roll over when things turned to worms.6 POB, one person in critical condition, two in moderate and the remaining three patients suffered minor injuries. None of the injuries were life-threatening, some fractures and broken ribs.

34°12'36.7"N 117°51'54.0"W seems to be the location.

No signs of wires or poles there but they could have hit the trees.

Otherwise it seems the weather was fine so it could have been a mechanical issue.

If you look at the flight path, it appears they approached the dam from the north and made a slow right hand orbit before heading north then east to the crash site. Google street view shows wires in the vicinity of the dam, which would match up the rumour of a wire strike in post 1.

Regardless, I'm glad everyone made it out safely!

Crab, I think your spot on give all the pieces of trees around the helicopter fuselage. Landing area looks large enough but would depend on what trucks and cars were there when they arrived

I was hiking in the same mountain range at the time, about 10mi east. Winds were gusty and shifting and there was broken low cloud moving through at the time well into the canyons. Not implying weather contributed, only adding information. I'm sure the actual cause will be determined pretty quickly. Very glad all injuries appear to be nonfatal.

Apparently loss of visual reference due to brownout.
