Low hour crewman jobs

Hi all, would appreciate any advice on this matter. I am a rotary crewman in the military looking into opportunities elsewhere. I've got a good number of competencies under my belt but low flying hours. Would love to go into SAR but looks like they're only taking on highly experienced crewmen. Does anyone have any recommendations where I should look for crewmen jobs with low hours? I've tried looking at the offshore side of things but haven't found much, perhaps I'm not looking in the right places. Electricity line Observer is one I've found that I may have a good chance at getting. I'm specifically looking for a practical crewman job - the more exciting flying the better - where I'll get good quality flying hours.

Cheers

Offshore is a non-starter. If we need to do something out of the ordinary that requires a winchman/crewman we'll launch with one of our aircraft maintenance engineers to do what needs doing in the back. There is no requirement for a dedicated crewman in offshore.

I see by your location that there are a few options not knowing your qualifications; have a look at the companies servicing the wind farm industry. There are a few in the UK and obviously Europe. Jump in your car and go visit a few! Also O&G SAR or LimSAR seems to be gaining more traction in Africa finally. A few pointers............. good luck.

Good luck with that. It's tough enough getting across State borders let alone into Australia. Even Australians are finding it tough to get into Australia. And Omicron 'aint gonna make it any easier.

The 3 offshore majors in Oz (Babcock, CHC & PHI) all utilise professional rear crew. PHI has just hired no-hour crewies on cadetships.

On the 92 right, which needs cabin attendants because of its size?

No, winch ops and down the wire on 139s and 92s. All three companies have either full sar or limsar cover requirements and dedicated rear crew.

Thanks for the replies people. I hadn't thought of the wind turbine jobs so that's one to look at. I am specifically looking for UK based stuff, Australia would be nice but as has already been pointed out the issues over there will be travel.

A few more details would mean better advice could be given. What service were you in, ? how old and fit are you? were you a loadmaster ? and do you have family commitments that would prevent you from overseas work.
If you can do weight and balance calculations and know how to strap things down, consider the air cargo companies, I would guess they are not so badly effected by Covice.
