Blue Thunder THOR (Tactical Helicopter Offensive Response) does truly exist albeit Turkish Jandarma (paramilitary cops) as they taken delivery of TAI T-129B ATAK..

Jandarma?

The news report spefically refers to civil police attack helicopters and Jandarma versions.

It is thought that the T129 ATAK helicopters owned by the General Directorate of Security will be used in terrorist operations. It was reported that the EGM, which entered into hot clashes in the operations carried out jointly with the Turkish Armed Forces and the Gendarmerie General Command, will use its own T129 Atak helicopter in the operations.

This appears to be a polis helicopter and not a Jandarma one.and has a Polis identity.

It is known that the Polis have been using armed drones so the armed aircraft concept is not out of place.
