Classic Aircraft Insurance

Looking at buying a classic machine (50 years +) and wondered if any one could point me in the direction of any insurance companies that specialise in this. I would also be interested to know what restrictions might be imposed. I remember having classic car insurance and I was restricted to under 3000 miles per year so wondered if there might be a similar type restriction. Appreciate any info you might have. Thanks

For fixed wing, no problems. I've shares in a wood/fabric 1960/64 - rebuilt from 2 wrecks long before we bought her, - and a 1967 metal. No extra limitations by insurance.

I was actually looking for companies that would specialise and give better rates.

Hayward’s everytime. Make sure you have the betterment clause.

If you’re not going to be flying it much then you could discuss options with them to limit the number of flying hours and passenger seats (for instance the Bell 47 cheaper as 2 seats instead of 3).

Speak to Stace at Haywards, might be a tad more expensive but customer service etc etc is first class
