Looks like a German reg Bell 206 long ranger from the photos on Sky news

Newspaper identified it as a Bell 206 from German company Rotorflug, flown by an Italian pilot who was killed in this accident..

Very sad news to all involved. Looks like the aircraft was EC-GU1 an Aeroprakt A22 Foxbat and the helicopter a LongRanger of Rotorflug possibly D-HOTT which I know has been based in Majorca in the past.

Takes me back to the Biggin Hill mid-air in 1977 when a JetRanger climbed into a Tiger Moth. Five in the JR were killed but the TM managed to land safely with no undercarriage.

RIP :(

PS

anyone heard of TIBA? Works well elsewhere and doesn’t require any additional equipment.

I remember that accident well, I was in a Cessna 340 about to land just after it happened. They had put up a fence around the accident so the crowd could not see the remains, sadly we were on the runway it was not a pleasant sight. G-AVSN a Ferranti JetRanger if memory recalls.

Question came up during a discussion...Did Rotorflug fly in Mallorca on a German AOC ?

Most definitely, why shouldn‘t they? It‘s Europe after all.
