Looks like a German reg Bell 206 long ranger from the photos on Sky news |
Newspaper identified it as a Bell 206 from German company Rotorflug, flown by an Italian pilot who was killed in this accident..
https://m.bild.de/news/ausland/news-...ildMobile.html Report talks about 5 casualties.. |
Sky now reporting 7 dead
|
Very sad news to all involved. Looks like the aircraft was EC-GU1 an Aeroprakt A22 Foxbat and the helicopter a LongRanger of Rotorflug possibly D-HOTT which I know has been based in Majorca in the past.

BBC reporting the same, 7 dead RIP

Takes me back to the Biggin Hill mid-air in 1977 when a JetRanger climbed into a Tiger Moth. Five in the JR were killed but the TM managed to land safely with no undercarriage. |
One of to many (unnecessary) fixwing / rotorcraft collisions
RIP :( PS ADS B & OGN & FLARM & ORSOMETHINGNEW , is it time for mandatory, when and how?! |

Question came up during a discussion...Did Rotorflug fly in Mallorca on a German AOC ?
|
Most definitely, why shouldn‘t they? It‘s Europe after all.
