Thanks. Allow me to clarify: I was referring to the production line configurations. A models came with T-700’s while the L was delivered with 701C’s. I don’t know the story re how the A models you refer to were re-engined with 701C’s, but it certainly would benefit the hot/high operations.

Addendum

I need to correct myself again, dang. The S70M has been around for some time, I guess they just recently obtained a restricted certificate for it. My new understanding is that the S70M is identical to the UH-60M and is different from the S70i in that the i model lacks some of the military bits that the S70M/UH-60M come with. My understanding is that the i stands for international and was originally thought up as a possible means to avoid some State Department issues with overseas sales. I've put my foot in mouth far enough on this one. It is a complicated history when looking at the Hawk/S70 evolution.

Correct, and it is built in Poland by PZL.

Thanks, Jim, and that matches the note from a friend, who wrote in part:
The T700-700 is gone, and only a few T701C engines remain. The 701D with 701C DEC limiting is the standard UH-60 engine for UH-60A/L. The flight manual and maintenance pubs fully define and placard the UH-60A+, with the UH-60A 2800 HP gearbox and 701D with C engine controls.
Those actions make the restricted category questions a bit simpler to address, for sure.

Attended Le Bourget on the wet Wednesday back in 2011, and wandered past the Sikorsky chalet. I think this 70i in my photos was the first a/c to come off the line in Poland.

Cheers
