What next Uber Eats by Helicopter!

Deliveroo has launched a helicopter dining experience in London in conjunction with Charter-A-Ltd. Apparently they had 48 diners on the first day.... must have been a busy day at Battersea and certainly a ‘Dine and dash’ experience for the guests, a 20 minute flight to eat your food and take in the sights?

Eating food, flying and the helicopter colour scheme don’t seem to go well together!

One interesting point is they were able to get permission to cover the helicopter Reg number with the wrap?

The Whopper Chopper... or a Big Mac and flies...

Love how they say that they “offset the carbon”.

Also possible the tail number isn't covered in reality, but rather retouched out for the press handout photo.

If somebody

wants to eat their burger while flying around with a pilot who is reduced to doing this (sorry buddy but move on when you are able) who am I to poke fun? This is capitalism hard at work. Between the noise, wearing a headset, and spilling food and drink I'm gonna guess that most customers would have actually enjoyed a pure sightseeing ride and a couple of chocolates more than trying to wolf their Big Mac down in the allotted flight time. Barf bag anyone? My sympathies to the cleaning crew.

Nothing new. In the early 2000 we used to offer the so called “Sushi in the sky” scenic flights in cooperation with a local sushi restaurant. In general the helicopter stayed clean and in the end there was plenty of sushi left for the pilots as well.

thats what I tell Prius drivers when they tell me my big gas guzzling pickup truck is killing the environment.

I thank them for offsetting my carbon foot print and doing their part.

I;m sure the residents of the West coast in BC won't be quite so smug about their gas guzzlers when the sea level rises....

Mike I read they actually have permission from CAA to permanently cover it?

Seems they do, the GINFO record for G-REXC states:

Display of registration mark exemption issued 05 Aug 2019
Serial: Deliveroo

Seems a lot of effort to go to...would displaying the reg really affect their branding that much?!?

If it were my $3m heli, I wouldn't want it used for flying people eating takeaways all day, hate to think what state the cabin could end up in - feel sorry for the pilot and the ground crew back at base.
