SCAA & FR24 / glidernet.org

Unfortunately had the SCAA air ambulance land locally today, when it left I noticed it didn't show up on fr24 or glidernet.org. Surely they carry a transponder? Or could / would they obscure it to private folks like me?

I was told a child had been knocked over. There were two road ambulances, police car, police van & the SCAA. Car still there, I imagine doing witness interviews.

Don't know your location ? , but firstly let me quote ( Occam’s razor ) , Call sign for SCAA out of Perth/Scone is Helimed 76 and today before leaving message passed to Perth tower if that’s where it was when tasked changes to Helimed 76 Alpha that the message that would have been passed to the tower ,crews on Helimed 76 are inline with crews everywhere else in the country , so please no assumptions against the team on the alpha call today mode Sierra and squawk code runs my life .

Observed this in my country with police helicopters. The have no stored tracks. However I see them live. But I cannot search for them.

Some state aircraft (SAR, Police etc) have their transponders modified so that you can’t see them on FR24. Not blanket however as some sneak through the net.

You might try

and scrol map to your place
To hide the id you have to contact each provider, the swiss seem not been asked 😏

I only happened to know the SCAA was airborne when it flew over the house at 100'. However from other sources I now know it probably flew back to Perth, the victim was taken to Dundee in a road ambulance with escort.

But I will keep an eye on the swiss link, thanks for that.

Thankfully I've since heard the victim was a 7yo boy and that he is bruised and needed stitches but no serious injuries. He missed out on a helicopter flight, except if badly enough injured to need one he wouldn't appreciate it, and he won't be missing school as it's the first day of the holidays.
