Helitech 2018 - Amsterdam

Anyone heading over to the city of canals, Edam cheese, Heinenken Museum and interesting cafes?

Home - Helitech International

Having spoken to a few contacts and friends, not a lot of the usual suspects heading over there?

Lest 2019 be returning to an airport - Farnborough...so maybe a return to good old days of Redhill and IWM (though a bit of me would like it to return to Duxford).

Cheers

Yep

Treating Mrs EESDL to a couple of days.
Was going to catch the ferry over and call it a Cruise - heck she has it good.
Will be there late 16-18 and also visiting the MRO Europe event - 2-birds with 1 stone etc.
Mrs can go and see if anything else has been added to the diary since last time she visited.....

I will be there in Amsterdam.

2019 - don't expect the "good old days of Redhill and IWM" - I can't imagine a movements-limited Farnborough allowing daily visitors by air, although Helitech are saying demo flights will be possible - hopefully more possible than a closed off car park with light stands which they had at ExCeL....

I suspect there were a lot of disappointed people in the RAI Amsterdam. The lack of comment here since the 12 tends to underline its lack of "vavoom". The show was fine and there were lots of positive comments on the business done. It failed to deliver on airframes shown but that was a detail.

It was it seems the last Helitech [ever].

There were press notices put out that highlighted the fact but few noticed the full page message on page 17 of the catalogue.

There is a split between EHA and the organisers. The organisers [currently the Helitech International team from Reed] are going off on their own to do a thing called Vertical Flight in November 2019 at Farnborough and EHA are doing their own thing [no name] in Europe [but 95% NOT at the RAI] in 2020.

A great shame but I suspect there may be ownership issues over the good name of Helitech - why else would they ditch an icon? The new name is supposed to encompass drones but there were precious few [1] at the RAI so that is not an issue.

If you want to read a very good write up on this issue and the past history of Wellitech etc I suggest you check out Helihub. HeliHub.com Helitech to change name as expo adapts to changing market

Think the Vertical article neatly sums up the situation:

Page 17 of the Helitech 2018 catalogue shows a city location with helipads superimposed on adjacent rooftops - with the title: "Landing 2019"
It doesn't look like Sau Paolo so I guess, considering the lack of any serious lobbying for useful commercial city sites, it's just a page of 'wishful thinking'??
