About MCC

Hello to all

I have some questions about the MCC.

A pilot having a ATPLH, multi-crew rating with IR has the MCC?

Is the MCC course a "one time" thing? or you´ll have to renew it.

if you have already MCC for helicopters will it be valid for Airplanes???

Thanks in advance for the good answers

If you are talking about EASA-land:

Yes, you need MCC to get ATPL(H). Therefore, if you have ATPL(H), you must have MCC.
Its a once-only training course, and its not type-specific. So you can do it on a plank, and it is valid for helo and vice-versa.

It can also be a stand alone generic course or built into a type rating course if the first MP type.

Thanks to both for your answers

500 hours on multi pilot helicopters will also do, without MCC, but not sure how that is applicable in today's world.

Military or non-EASA conversion.

FCL.735.H MCC course - helicopters says that a F/W MCC certificate exempts the holder from TKI only. You still have to carry out "practical training" - ie. 20 hours in a R/W simulator.

Agreed QTG but the UK CAA don’t seem to bother too much, I’m aware of a few that have snuck through. TeeS

…...on the subject of MCC, if anyone is desperate for a course in the very near future, I've recently been made aware of a single vacancy on a course starting February 17th - Cotswold area. If this is of interest, send a PM and I will put you in contact with the provider.

Cheers
