Hi does anyone know the procedure for adding a turbine type rating to a UK EASA ppl/h using a Non UK EASA facility and examiner

Assuming it’s an EASA ATO it’s no different to doing it in the UK.

(Until the 29th March 2019, anyway!)

The non-UK examiner has to be accredited by your CAA. But he knows that.

when you fill the paperwork in, it will need to be done on UK paperwork and the examiner will have to get permission from UK CAA which he can do on line.

I’ve done it a couple of times and found it to be less complicated than dealing with the german LBA. Friendly and helpful people and a simple response by email within 24 hours.��

You will need to provide the CAA with copies of the EASA ATO, the examiners medical and licence and a course completion certificate - the EASA ATO should provide all that for you along with the skills test form. if you use a simulator you will need to provide proof of certification for that as well.
Gatwick are not good at processing paperwork, electronic or otherwise - be prepared for a wait of a month or so once you submit your paperwork to get your licence back with your new type rating on.

Its pretty straightforward. The ATO & your examiner need to comply with the latest EASA examiner differences document. They do the training complete the test notification procedure, and do the check then fill in the CAA paperwork, give you a copy, and email a copy to the CAA. They also need to send a copy of the examiner licence & medical, ATO accreditation, simulator certification ( if applicable). The examiner will not be able to make an entry in your licence for the skill test, so you will need to fill in the application form and send it to the CAA with the appropriate cash. Job done!
Dont worry, the ATO should know what its doing - I am a foreign examiner, and have done the same thing for most EASA countries over the last few years.
