Ghodawat Aviation India Info Please

Please excuse the intrusion of a fixed wing mortal in the Rotorheads Forum, but I am after any general information about this company - operating a couple of Eurcopters.

Ghodawat is the parent organisation of the Heli operation, and now also behind a new company Star Air, starting up with ERJ145's. Apparently the Chief Pilot of the Heli operation is now also the CEO of Star Air. They seem to be getting quite interested in me - an experienced 145 Captain, and a Brit - so looking at an expat contract, along with looking forward to the experience.

So I am just tying to get a feel of what Ghodawat are like as an organisation, and what sort of company Star Air may be like, especially under the leadership of the new CEO/Heli CP.

I don't have any previous experience in India (some Africa and Middle East experience), so any offerings about expat life in general in India, and operational issues in particular, weather, ATC, airport infrastructure, etc., would also be gratefully received. The company are based in Bengaluru, and it seems will operate routes from Hubballi to Tirupatu, Pune, and Dheli, although I think the military airport there is opening up for domestic traffic.

Yes, I am prepared for a culture shock (Africa prepares you for that); yes, I am prepared for Dheli Belly (see Africa); yes, I am ready for the bureaucracy; yes I am open minded; and most importantly of all, yes, I do like curry, and very much looking forward to real McCoy !

Many thanks in advance for any contributions.

L8.
