Very modern and original look especially with the ballistic parachute above the rotor !

Looks a lot like that other Italian concoction the FAMA KISS which has done little.

Hello Bell_ringer,

Curti Aerospace is a reputed company in the aerospace supplier industry so this project can succeed.

But this helicopter belongs to the ultra-light and experimental categories so I don't understand the title of this thread except that the OP is a 100% basher about a model (G2 in this case), an attitude he criticizes in some members of the forum ...
.

Cool looking helicopter. If would not be even close to an ultralight in the US, indeed it's claimed maximum gross weight is higher than that of an R22 Beta II. Other spec's appear to be about the same as an R22, except for baggage space which is substantially improved by probably a factor of 8!

Sadly, with a turbine, electronics and carbon fiber, it seems rather unlikely it will be less expensive to obtain and maintain than the old 22. It might not auto any better, either. Still, a FADEC controlled turbine...fingers crossed!

You just need the youtube video ID (RcAQKQINDKc) between the tags, not the full URL.

looks better than a 505.:ok:

I always like to see the creations from people with a desire to build something new for the market.

Too bad I am in Canada and the governments are all taxing us to death. I would really like to beat the city traffic with something like this. Unfortunately I'll be bankrupt just living, long before I can feel broke buying the fuel for my new transportation.

Back on the bicycle I go.....*sigh.

Why put the collective on the right?

Doesn't seem like they did, judging by a quick google image search. I bet the scene in the video was mirrored for artistic purposes by an aspiring video producer. In the end they didn't change it because it looks good and they are Italian.

This helicopter looks rather like the R22 got some competition. Like so many other ultra light prototypes that popped up over the last years.
At least this one has a rotor head that looks somewhat sturdy.

Actually, the only "bashing" of the Cabri I do is about its price,...cannot comment (or "bash ") its performance because I cannot see a reason to pay $105 more to fly it!

If you want me to pay more than an R22, you have to give me something for that extra cash. With the R44 I get two additional seats plus R44 hours, which can (and did) lead to a low time pilot job.

With this Zefhir, if I have to pay more, at least I'm getting turbine hours which can lead to an entry-level turbine job in the Grand Canyon,...if I ever desired one.

Paying more to fly the Cabri gets me nothing!

,...anyway, its a new and modern two-seater with a better engine,...hence the title!

Hello 22butters,

That's a pity you don't read the messages in full.
You wont get an entry level turbine job by flying this Zefhir because this is an helicopter from the ultralight caregory.

This has come up before. I remember a guy who wrote about building time in a helicycle then getting on at the Grand Canyon. Seems, if you can pass the interview flight, turbine time is turbine time they don't care!

After 15 years, and only got to a entrylevel job?!? all in the Robinsons....!! heck, that might qualify for the Guinnes Book of records!

Ascend Charlie 25th May 2018 23:13

Steady on, Butters is very picky about who he works for. They gotta provide donuts, have a coffee cup holder on the dash, and a video screen running Family Guy and South Park for the passengers. He has only found one of those so far, and when the employer changed from Krispy Kreme to Donut King, Butters, rightly, left.

rjtjrt 25th May 2018 23:39

This is getting totally out of hand. There are some shameful, nasty things being written.
In the end, what someone likes or dislikes is nothing to get personal about. So what if someone likes or dislikes the 22, or a 300, or anything else.

Do I get a donut for that?

Nor do you, hh. It would not be an ultralight in the US.
