Bell 47 operating costs UK register ?

Ok standing by for laughter, derision, being directed towards everyone’s personal shrink ,
but i’m going to ask anyway !

Bell 47 operating costs in the UK please ?
fuel I’m estimating 16 GPH
insurance ? £3K / year private flying
maintenance haven’t a clue but guessing expensive ? Are there any licensed maintenance organisations left in the UK?
annual C of A cost ?
current restrictions if any ?

Weald Aviation maintain the Historic Army Aircraft Flight who operate one. Issue also is a shortage of FI/FE.

GMASH is a good ship. There are plenty of experienced Bell 47 operators oop north. Drop me a message and we can take it from there.

Essentially there are many advantages to owning one of these machines not least that they are now Annex 2 aircraft so easier to run and maintain.

Downside; don't be in a rush to go anywhere. It's like having a classic car. Sunny afternoon out and all that.

Misterbonkers, what does Annex 2 mean and how does that make them easier to run and maintain? Thanks

Opposed to maintaining to the OEM regime, you maintain to a regime as approved by the CAA. In short, each airframe has its personal maintenance programme opposed to a one programme fits all. Sort of.

Annex 2 aircraft are responsibility of the national authorities and not EASA. So far it seems easier to resolve the problems that older types can present as you can phone the CAA and get an answer. Also, the owner can potentially be more hands on on the maintenance side.
