Bell has rebranded itself, I can't say I'm a fan of the new logo......

I hope they ask for a refund, that's just nasty looking.

The name change highlights their strategy to produce vertical lift aircraft beyond the current product range.

I couldn’t agree more! And see how nicely (even in its animation) Swiss Marenco did their logo when rebranding to Kopter.

Now I think “Bell” is a nicer name than Kopter, but that’s another debate.

Perhaps they want to branch out, they could start making phones.

Or cutlery

Maybe the logo precedes the naming of their air taxi.

Will it be the Bell Dragonfly?

It depends. If they changes the TCDS's holders of STC's may have to update all of that paper work. Like when Eurocopter went to Airbus.

The new logo is even more unfortunate when you consider that the original Dragonfly helicopter was the Sikorsky H5 which first flew in the 1940’s

I think the Marenco -> Kopter move carries two issues :

1. How will the new logo look on a 5 or 6 bladed model, should they ever want to build one?

2. Over here for German/Austrian ears "kopter" sounds close to an urban slang, shortened, slightly derogative term, like "cop" for policeman. "Mate, get yer 'kopter spinning, pax have arrived".
Maybe we'll see "Daimler AG" rebrand to "Benz", and BMW turn into "Beemer", who knows?

Maybe Bell dropped helicopter from their name to setup to sell hovering lawnmovers, elevators or construction site cranes in the future?
Nowadays everyone wants to be able to sell anything: do a comparison of feature development of WhatsApp, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook during the last 5 years, being really good at one thing and one thing only no longer is a value to be proud of, just look at the Starbucks logo history https://www.designhill.com/design-bl...and-evolution/

The development dollars aren't going to helicopters these days. Between autonomous aircraft, tilt rotors, air taxis etc it's safe to say the conventional helicopter Era is slowly drawing to a close, at least in terms of making them a successful and lasting business.
The name is a sign of the times.

It's always sad to see a break with tradition and heritage but it's a smart modern logo I suppose... a car brand-like shield combining a rotor mast with a 4-blade main rotor.

I understand the Dragonfly thing. It's like Chevrolet putting a Mustang-like horse emblem on their badge.

Trying to make a Silk Purse out of the proverbial Sow's Ear it seems to me.

You bunch of Philistines. I think it's visionary. It says: "Who knows what we might be producing in 10 years' time? It could be tiltrotors. It could be air taxis. It could be street signs."

Schweizer was rebranded. That turned out poorly. It seems to me that rebranding is often the first outward sign that management has decided the company founders didn't know what they were doing and their outside team is going to come in and fix it.

Ugh! Horrible.

And I thought that renaming Eurocopter into Airbus Helicopters was a bad decision 🤐

Apparently some regretted the decision to change when they googled the lifespan of a dragonfly, 7 months.
