HAI Dallas 2017

Dear All,

HAI about to start in Dallas - can't quite figure out from their website, but can anyone tell me if the show is open to the public specifically on the Monday (6th)?

Regards,

Plank Cap

Yes; all days are public. Just register and pay on the site.

Note, the show floor exhibition only takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The only things happening on Monday are meetings and courses, etc., which are held *outside* of the show floor.

Paying on-the-spot to access the show floor exhibition on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday will cost you $165 (for a non-HAI member) for a one-day pass, or $510 for all three days...unless you can find a generous PPRuNer with tickets to spare. Student rates are $30/$60. Kids 14 and under get in free.

Sorry - didn't check the actual dates as I'm not there this year. But, for the days there is actually a floor show, it's open to all.

PHI, Metro, and Sikorsky announced real time Health Monitoring today.

Vertical Magazine has a video on it.

The Gulf of Mexico is growing up it would seem!

Wouldn't have helped Cougar 491 or the current weak point of the S-92A.

Zalt. Your cynicism does you no credit. Why cannot you be happy that an important manufacturer and major operator have made a significant investment in HUMS. HUMS cannot detect everything but it can detect 90% of the potential failures within a helicopter that will kill you if not rectified. That is a good thing.
Sikorsky and PHI have strengthened the case for HUMS simply by accepting the principle and the upfront cost.
The more HUMS is used and the better it is integrated into maintenance philosophy and practice then the more effective and cheaper it will become. One day all helicopters will have it and we will wonder why it took so many decades for it to be accepted by the "Decision Makers". So I say well done to Sikorsky and PHI. Happy Landings.

And some of those large potential failures still exist that have not been designed out or forgotten it would seem.

It is a good idea but it is also a retro-active attempt to put a "band aid" on things to try and restore some lost faith.

HAI now reporting attendance of 17,788 at this year's show, up from the 14,000 who traveled to Louisville but down on the pre-show prediction of 20,000, despite claims that the "industry is in a growth phase."

Next year the show heads back to Vegas, which attracted a record 20,393 attendees in 2013.
