I'm not sure if this has been posted before, apologies if it has.

Thank you for sharing!

I am enlightened now why it makes sense to have this kind of operation regulated under CAT, including issues like Line Check Requirements, that all on board must be briefed before every departure about smoking restrictions and the location of the briefing cards, and of course that the commander ensures that at any time the cabin altitude exceeds 10 000 ft for a period of more than 30 minutes, or 13 000 ft, he must ensure that all use oxygen, and all the other nonsence. Oh, and don’t forget the requirements to carry certain documents on board, very important!

Good luck to all who try to operate safe AND be legal at the same time!

Great show , what Tv Channel is it on ?. Are they the only EMS operator of 429 ?

KiwiNedNZ 21st Oct 2016 17:21

Widgeon - in Europe there are a number of HEMS operations that have the 429 but they are the only one that does HEMS and SAR I think. The UK has a HEMS machine and there is also one in France. However USA there are a lot of HEMS 429s.

And Gerold says the Doctor is awesome. Look who's talking.

You can watch it on Red Bull TV (by APP on a modern TV) or on their website. 6 Episodes so far, a bit like the TV documentary SF1 (Swiss National TV) made a couple of years ago about Air Zermatt.

Oh and every helicopters sounds like a 206, even the 135, the Lama and the 429 ;-)

Yes, apparently in the interest of "production value" (which indeed is high) and "sound continuity" most helicopter sounds are artificial. I was delighted to hear the 135 sliding door close with a gentle, rolling noise - all while the helicopter was in a high hover.

Nice product placement for Marenco in episode 5... Not very subtle but nonetheless pretty interesting.

Now that I watched these six episodes I have to say episode 5 "The smallest piece" is my favorite. It has a lama, the SH09 and a crevasse rescue...
They also have some short behind the scenes clips here.
Mark Webber getting some alpine flight training and Gerold briefly talking about a crash he had.
