Beware Jake McGoldrick

Guys,

Beware an Australian helicopter pilot known going by the name Jake McGoldrick, or sometimes McGouldrick.

He has been caught out falsifying experience and has been consistently untruthful in his dealings with employers. He has also been a major disruptive influence among aircrews and engineers.

Despite what he may tell you, Jake was never employed by any defense contractor to conduct any PMC operations.

I've flown with a Jake Mcgoldrick who was an Aussie as I remember however he never claimed to have an excessive amount of time. Last I heard he was in Africa flying AS350's (maybe 407) or 412's? Is this the same guy? I'm not sure what PMC operations are? Wore a neon orange helmet...

Ascend Charlie 21st Mar 2015 06:47

Wow!!

Have a read of that, receiving a pension from the army for having a mental disorder, and denying he had a mental problem to the CASA DAME. Claiming thousands of hours when most were false, being accident-free when he had written off an aircraft, the story goes on. A total liar.

My old mate Egon was right to deny this dunce an appeal, but he is probably still flying without the required paperwork.

Sounds like a perfect bush pilot!!:ok:

Not many bush pilots have had that ability. Was he ex Navy?

I know this is a serious thread, but part of the report made me laugh out loud.

"I have 1000 hours incident free flying"

"You crashed in 2012"

"Yes"

"So that's not 1000 incident free then"

"Yes it is, all the other hours were incident free"

To sum up, this bloke was regularly beaten by his army colleagues, lied lied lied about experience, being in Afghan, being a close protection officer, slept with a shotgun by his side in bed, took drugs to stay awake because he thought people were coming to get him, covered up a crash, lied to doctors and was assessed as having a personality disorder and PTSD from the above beatings?????
Have I missed something here??? He's Bonkers Conkers!!

canterbury crusader 23rd Mar 2015 11:25

Too funny,

I guess if they didn't specify the hours must be cumulative then he is technically correct. It was only one hour that contained an incident. Points for trying.

Guys this has got to stop!
I personally was his boss for 2 years. He flew our B3's and mediums doing specialized lifting work at altitudes which others
had failed many times. His stick skills were precise his attention to detail and calculated planning whilst operating in high risk areas was the only thing that drove our operation department nuts.

He has since moved on and is working as a PMC for a major player in that industry, Its all very well to sit and criticize behind a user name and a key board without hearing or taking into account his side of the story.

I will be contacting Jake to make him aware of this thread and further more
if anyone thinks they can or is able to do the job he did and is happy to live in the Congo and West Africa unaided and unarmed then please PM me your CV and I will be happy to consider your application as well as post weekly to the helicopter community on your progress and ability.

Jake has written to us. He assures me his legal team overturned all the findings detailed above. Many thanks for contacting Jake for us Cbox. The IP address suggests you were within feet of him so I'm glad it was a simple task.

Hello, Jake.

This seems an odd post for "the boss" to make only this morning.

"Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to train in the sun?"

Helilog56 23rd Mar 2015 15:37

Never heard of the guy or met him, and probably never will. But I am quite taken aback at the blatant trashing of someone so publicly from people hiding behind an Internet identity....if one is so callous as to smear someone like that....post your own name too back it up.

Your caution to others is unnecessary. Take a look at the "privacy" notice at the head of the forum.

If people are posting factually accurate material then they are OK. If the material they post is not accurate and amounts to defamation then there is no "anonymity" for the poster.

If you have not so far read it, the notice says:

"NOTICE: You are responsible for the content you post. This is a public forum. Treat it as if you are speaking in a crowded room. Recent high-profile defamation events illustrate that there are ways in which third parties can force personal data, including contents of personal messages, to be released by bulletin board owners. Be careful - libelous/defamatory posts can and have landed members in legal hot water. PPRuNe will not guarantee your anonymity in such situations."

Helilog56 23rd Mar 2015 15:59

Yes John...thanks for the reminder on the rules. The problem I have with stuff like this as you pointed out, speaking in a crowded room is hardly a good comparison as everyone in that scenario knows all to well who is talking....not here.

So in my small minded world of showing ownership and responsibility of what I say publicly, I try to show some integrity and manners by stepping up and posting my name with what I believe in....or worse stick my foot (mouth) in.

Cheers....Bob Kellie

jayteeto 23rd Mar 2015 16:24

I have no problem posting my name, I'm not hiding.
Forgive me, but isn't the originally posted document accurate?? If it is not a summary of the CASA case and is fiction, then I apologise unreservedly. However it looks pretty accurate, if so, I am not trashing his name, he has done a pretty good job of doing that himself.
I stated a very shortened bit of what I read. Then gave my opinion relating to ANY person who was prepared to mislead and lie to government officials. If he wants to get in touch, I will say it to his face as well.

John Taylor

Awaiting your correspondence

Helilog56 23rd Mar 2015 17:07

Refreshing too read John Taylor....:)

I should have been more precise in pointing towards the OP and his comments on the named individuals dealings with other employers. It came across as second or third hand information.....would that be correct Subversive1 ???

onetrack 24th Mar 2015 00:30

I don't think any poster could trash Jake McGoldrick any better than he has trashed himself.
The OP's link is to an AAT case where the truth is sought out, as in every properly-constituted court of law - and the AAT is a very large and important part of the Australian legal system.

The information revealed in that AAT case suggests that everything the OP has stated is largely true.

One always has to harbour some suspicion about anyone who claims they were "bullied" or "harrassed" in the military.
In groups such as the military, it doesn't take long for tossers to be identified and therefore become the target of those with perception and understanding that the tosser is not what he regularly claims to be.

Granted, there are people in the military who are abusive and domineering and who seek out weaker personalities to degrade them. I'm not sure that Jake McGoldrick was such a victim of those abusive personalties.

Delta Torque 24th Mar 2015 03:54

I doubt the post from cboxhot.

Is it only me that has alarm bells ringing at that statement - if others failed, was it because the only way to do it was by breaking rules and limits???

cockney steve 25th Mar 2015 20:55

If you were self-employed, you'd be your boss, wouldn't you?

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck..........
if it has a red note under a post, that's probably because a Mod put it there.
If a Mod says that the IP address is the same one used by A N Other, you can be pretty sure the 2 posters are so intimately acquainted, they're Siamese Twins (conjoined, for the PC crowd)...or one and the same. .
