28-10-14 Forties Charlie precautionary landing
Reported by BBC News
A Super Puma helicopter made a "precautionary" landing on a North Sea oil platform amid fears of a technical fault, its operator has said. Bond said the EC 225 was heading for the Forties Unity platform on Tuesday but instead landed on the Forties Charlie installation after a warning light came on. It is understood it related to the helicopter's tail rotor. The Super Puma was carrying 18 passengers and two crew. No-one was injured. Bond engineers will head offshore to examine the aircraft, before arrangements are made to transfer the passengers back to Aberdeen. |
