Strange socket 24V 400W in AS350
Hello all!
We are renting a helicopter for aerial reconnaissance, Eurocopter AS350, and we need 24V power for our equipment. They have this socket (picture bellow) in helicopter, but we don't know where we can buy the connector. Does anyone have any clue where to get it? Is this old socket? What other sockets / connectors do they use in helicopters for various equipment? Thank you for all the answers! https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-m...n_IMG_3506.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-a...n_IMG_3509.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--...n_IMG_3511.JPG |
It's a 555A. There are knock-offs available on ebay and elsewhere.

Or the genuine part can be had here.

Thank you both for this info!
Now I know what to search for :) I found fake connectors on ebay for 52€, and I sent request for price to this original store, waiting for answers. But as I looked through this forum, I found out the original with FORM1 is around 350 €/$, so ..... Thanks again. |
If you're in a hurry to get going, the local electrics store will probably
have these available: Banana connector - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia the mighty banana plug! :-) |
FullTravelFree: you know before I posted the pictures of connector here, I asked a friend of mine, who is an aircraft mechanic with B2 licence. But he works on aircraft, not helicopters.
In his spare time he does some work on gliders and ultralights (he is also a glider pilot). When I showed him a picture of this plug, he said: "I newer saw this socket or plug before, but you know what, go to CONRAD.COM and just buy banana plugs." :) |
