CS 27 question

Hi ppruners!
In CS 27.955 Fuel Flow b) Fuel Transfer systems states:
If normal operatios of fuel system requires fuel to be transferred to an engine feed tank, the transfer must occur automatically ....
My question is: how EC135 managed to get through this point if the pilot needs to turn ON the transfer pumps to feed the supply tanks ????
I'm sure there is knowledge enough around ppruners to responde .... thanks in advance

Lets read all of it:

(b) Fuel transfer systems. If normal operation of the fuel system requieres fuel to be transferred to an engine feed tank, the transfer must occur automatically via a system which has been shown to maintain the fuel level in the engine feed tank witihin acceptable limits during flight or surface operation of the rotorcraft.

Lets look at it this way:

As soon as you turn on the fuel transfer pumps in the EC135, the fuel is transferred automatically via the system, this system has been shown to maintain the fuel level in the engine feed tank within acceptable limits during flight or surface operation of the EC135.

Example: Nothing automatic about the autopilot until you switch it on.

Nah, I don't think so - it's non-compliant!

You are thinking like a PCM of EASA.

if you look at it that way, any sytem operating with a swith is "automatic" ...
well, it might be the case but definetly not the idea I had ...

Aren't lexical semantics wonderful

Not everything that is switched on is an automatic system, but every automatic system has to be switched on :ok:

I'll bite that, but it tastes a Little weird .....
thanks for the responses
